Aura Melt — Resin Globe Wall Sconce, Two Sizes

A cast resin globe — its silhouette pinched and pulled downward like a droplet that stopped mid-fall — mounts flush to the wall with a compact metal backplate. The G9 socket sits deep inside the cavity; when lit, warm light radiates outward through the translucent body, shifting from a bright yellow core at the center to the shell's own color — lime-green, white, or deep red — at the outer edge. Both the compact 5.7″ and the taller 10.1″ version share the same 5.8″ diameter, making them easy to pair in an asymmetric wall grouping above a console, in a powder room, or along a staircase wall.

Does the Aura Melt require an electrician to install?

Yes — the Aura Melt is hardwired directly into your wall circuit, so a licensed electrician is required. There is no plug or cord. The metal backplate covers a standard wall junction box; your electrician connects the lamp's lead wires to your existing circuit. Installation typically takes under 30 minutes once the wiring is in place.

What G9 bulb should I use, and where can I find one?

Use a G9 LED capsule — 3–5W, 2700–3000K warm white. A frosted G9 produces a softer, even glow through the resin; a clear vintage-filament G9 creates a brighter yellow hot spot at the core if you prefer a more dramatic gradient effect. Avoid halogen G9s above 20W, as the heat can stress the resin shell over time. G9 LEDs are widely available at Home Depot, Lowe's, or on Amazon.

Does the color look the same when the light is off versus on?

No — and that's part of the design. When unlit, the resin body reads as a translucent colored globe with a subtly frosted surface. When lit, the G9 filament illuminates the interior and the warm yellow light radiates outward through the body, creating a visible gradient from bright warm yellow at the core to the shell's own color at the outer edge. The lit appearance is significantly more vivid than the unlit state.

Can I use both sizes together on the same wall?

Yes — because both sizes share the same 5.8″ diameter, they read as a coherent pair when mounted together. An asymmetric arrangement works particularly well: mount the smaller one 8–10 inches higher than the larger one, with a 12–16 inch horizontal gap between them.
